MJ Bolt stands as a formidable force in Washington State politics and community advocacy, currently commanding the helm of UnBolted, a hard-hitting podcast that fearlessly tackles the gritty realities of state politics and personal trials, including the devastating impact of vaccine injuries. From January 2023 to October 2023, she wielded influence as Vice Chair of the Spokane GOP, before seizing the role of Chair of the Spokane County GOP from October 2023 until her retirement in December 2024. Bolt’s leadership extends deep into education, with an ironclad eight-year tenure on Washington’s State Board of Education as one of Eastern Washington’s fiercely dedicated elected representatives on the 16-member board. Before that, she stormed onto the Central Valley School Board in 2011, serving four years and rising to Chair in 2015 with unrelenting resolve. In 2022, she threw her hat into the ring for State Representative in Washington’s 4th Legislative District, proving her ambition knows no bounds. For over two decades, Bolt has been a relentless pillar of the Spokane Valley community, sinking her roots deep into its soil. She co-founded Council HEART in Hand Outreach, a gritty, grassroots effort to lift up homeless and transitional students, and launched the Greater Valley Support Network, a bold initiative to spotlight and solve the plight of the region’s most vulnerable. Her fingerprints are all over local education, from battling it out in Parent Teacher Associations to serving two years as a service specialist for Washington State PTA Region 15 and co-chairing her district’s Citizen Levy Campaign with unflinching determination. In 2010, her tireless efforts earned her the Central Valley School District Meritorious Award—a testament to her unyielding impact. Bolt’s influence reverberates far beyond Spokane. Over the past 12 years, she’s forged an arsenal of state and national connections. Elected by her peers, she served as Vice-Chair of the State Board of Education from September 2019 to September 2021, and in 2016, she stormed onto the National Association of State Boards of Education (NASBE) Board as New Board Representative, dominating multiple committees. She also brought her fierce perspective to the now-defunct Washington State Expanded Learning Opportunities Council. Before her political ascent, Bolt carved out a name as a professional golf instructor from 1998 to 2013, schooling players at courses across Spokane Valley and Post Falls. A standout athlete, she earned golf scholarships to the University of Iowa and Eastern Washington University, clinching the Big 10 Championship in 1991 as a freshman at Iowa and snagging the Big 10 Freshman of the Year Award. A 1990 Mead High School graduate, she’s since planted herself in Spokane Valley, raising two children with relentless devotion. Her fire to serve burns brightest through her kids—especially her son, Preston, whose autism diagnosis and vaccine injury after the MMR shot rocked her world. When Preston stopped speaking for two years, Bolt dug in, researching tirelessly until she uncovered the chilling link to vaccines. She kept her findings under wraps until 2020, when the aggressive rollout of COVID vaccines across Washington ignited her voice. Now, she’s a relentless advocate, unafraid to confront the powers that be, driven by a mother’s love and a warrior’s resolve.
